Karl Greenway

Karl began his career in architecture in 1975, as an industrial kitchen designer, before qualifying as an Architectural Technician in 1979. He completed his architectural education at Birmingham School of Architecture, before becoming a registered Architect in 1987.

On graduation, Karl worked for Associated Architects in Birmingham and Ian Stainburn Architect's in Ledbury. In 1989 he joined Glazzard Architects Co-operative, prior to it's becoming Lett + Sweetland Architects in 1990.

Combining a knowledge of materials and construction and with a keen eye for detail, Karl has been responsible for some of the larger projects undertaken by L+SA and continues to work on projects in addition to his role as Managing Director for the practice.

Frazer Bufton

Frazer began his career as an architectural draughtsman, in 1987, before qualifying as an Architectural Technician in 1992. He completed his architectural education Part-Time at Birmingham School of Architecture, graduating with First Class Honours in 1999, before registering as an Architect in 2005. 


Frazer joined L+SA in September 2017 bringing a wide range of experience across sectors including, social & private housing, education and healthcare and on projects ranging from just £25K to over £100 million. He has worked as a visiting tutor at Birmingham School of Architecture and more recently was Course Director for Architecture at Coventry University.  He is a member of the RIBA visiting board responsible for validating schools of architecture and an expert design panel member for MADE* - design west midlands.

Nick Hatton

Nick began his career in architecture in 1987, qualifying as an Architectural Technologist before attending Birmingham School of Architecture where he gained both his RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 qualifications.


Nick joined L+SA in 2002, since when his technical knowledge and skills as a designer have proved a useful combination on a wide variety of projects. His expertise in computer technology, combined with his skills in sketching and drawing, mean that he can produce informative visuals, photo montages, computer models and intricate technical detailing, enabling clients to readily appreciate and understand their projects through all stages of the design process.


Nick is a keen photographer, artist and enthusiast for good architectural design.

Terra Newman  

BE Hons


Terra joined L+SA at the beginning of 2018 as Office, Marketing and Finance Manager. Originally from Florida in the U.S.A, Terra moved to Worcester in 2006 and began her career in Marketing Technology.

Terra graduated with Honours from Florida State University, with a double Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Secondary Education with a Teacher's Certificate. 


With a background in Finance, Marketing and Office Administration, Terra is a key member of the L+SA team and ensures the smooth running of the office and studio.

Outside of L+SA Terra runs her own marketing company and is an Amateur Book Reviewer & Blogger in her spare time.

James Gidden

BSc (Hons) MArch

Part II Architectural Assistant

James joined L+SA towards the start of 2019 as a Part II Architectural Assistant having previously undertaken both his RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 qualifications. 

He graduated from Coventry University with a First Class Honours degree in Architecture in 2013 before attending Plymouth University where he obtained his Master of Architecture in 2017.


With experience across a wide range of sectors including, social & private housing, education and commercial James is in the process of building up practical experience prior to starting his Part 3 studies with the aim of becoming a fully qualified chartered Architect.

Outside of L+SA James is a keen traveller and enjoys exploring new places and cultures, as well as being a big sports fan.
